Is It The Delicious Coffee, Great Conversation Or The Location... What's Brewing On Staten Island's North Shore ?

Do you wake up anticipating a great cup of coffee? Is it the jump start of your day ....the fuel that keeps you going ? I definitely look forward to a great cup of coffee....after my morning run in Silver Lake Park.... a stop at the "Coffee & Tea Market" on Forest Ave. is a great way to start the day. This wonderful niche gathering place is located within Silver Lake; part of Staten Island's North Shore community.

The Silver Lake community has many options of housing...charming colonials, capes, condos, apartments and magnificent victorian homes. Many of the home date back to the early 1900's. Many local buses and the X30 express bus to midtown Manhattan, travel along the main street of Forest ave. Also in the area is the beautiful Silver Lake Park http://www.nycgovparks.org/parks/silverlakepark , which just added a tot park for the little ones to enjoy.

The "Coffee & Tea Market" is part of  the Forest Avenue Business Improvement District or BID http://www.forestavenuebid.com/about-us    Owner Todd David provides a large selection of coffees and teas to fit everyone's taste. I personally enjoy the flavor of the day....every morning there is a different flavor of coffee written on the chalk board. The anticipation of the flavor of the day ....is something I look forward to daily.

Many locals enjoy their morning and afternoon coffee or tea...while chatting with old friends and new friends. The sense of community and good old neighborly interaction is so pleasurable here. Knowing everyone in the Coffee & Tea Market just by being a customer...is certainly a nice feeling. The next time you are in Staten Island's North Shore.... make sure to travel through the Silver Lake community. Discover why so many love this area....parks, golf course, small town community....just to name a few attractions... a wonderful place to live.

Why Are You Inspecting My House ?

Welcome to businesses, people and homes of Staten Island's North Shore community. Today's business highlight shares what you can expect during a home inspection. At times inspections can be daunting and nerve racking for a seller of a home......and to some extent to a buyer. Free buyers guide : www.wiesnerolivieri.info

I met up with Manny Stratakis, a licensed NYS home inspector with Pillar To Post www.pillartopost-statenisland.com located here on Staten Island while on a recent home inspection. I wanted to find out.......will an inspector always find something wrong in the home inspection process ? Manny indicated inspectors look for major problems....heating and cooling systems, electrical problems, signs of water damage, termites and structural or plumbing problems. Do -it - yourself projects are also closely checked. Often problems are minor and inexpensive for the seller to fix. How can the seller prepare for the inspection? Manny suggested, having the seller give their home the once over is a good idea.....prior to inspection. In my opinion....an experienced Real Estate agent can give the house a good look-over....agents may not have the expertise of a home inspector .....but have been through enough sale negotiations to spot common red flags. I believe even when negotiations get tough..... the buyer still wants to buy your home. It is true ...buyers do experience feeling overwhelmed also. When purchasing a home.... bear in mind that a home inspection is a tool and resource you can use in determining if that particular home is for you. Looking for expert advice... Manny is an inspector who will provide  a professional and knowledgable home inspection.

Do You Know Your Choices When Selecting A Home Or Business Security System? Staten Island North Shore Business Explain...

Welcome to businesses, people and homes of Staten Island's North Shore community. Today's business highlight is APB Security Systems, located on Victory Blvd. in Staten Island's North Shore. http://www.apbsecurity.com/   Steve Coppola Pres.of APB Security Systems Inc. and his daughter Pamela Coppola Columbia Pres. of Statewide Fire Corp. discussed relevant security systems being used today.

100_1703

Now when I think of security... I think of your basic alarm, where either the alarm rings only on the property when triggered or can be set to alert central station....which then contacts the police. So with today's technology..... I was curious as to what types of security systems are available today. Both homeowners and business owners can certainly benefit by knowing what their options are in the world of security. One form of security I was introduced to ; AES -Intellinet http://www.aes-intellinet.com/ this is a wireless alarm that works on radio technology. No cellular or telephone connection...a radio connection that can alert central station in 1-3 seconds. How neat is that...now that is technology! It is also provides use in hard to reach areas. The second type of security system we talked about was Videofied http://www.videofied.com/. This particular system looks like a motion detector...no phone lines, a cellular device that takes pictures every few seconds when triggered. Signals are sent to central station.....which determines if a crime is in progress or not. If a crime is in action, Police will be alerted as a "crime in progress".....which respond time is faster than a routine alarm. I see this as being a useful form of security.... in an empty home, building or new construction.

Steve and Pam provided some very useful information today. I definitely look at security systems differently now. Knowing various options that are available to the consumer. The family owned business of APB Security Systems on Staten Island's North Shore is eager to provide you with current information and security options ....to fit your lifestyle or business. If you are looking for honesty and courteous service definitely speak to Steve or Pam...... a staple business within the North Shore community.
